The Vigilante Sisters: Hooks and Rhymes
The Vigilante sisters, Kim Villagante (K!m Possible) and Racquel Villagante are back with an upcoming summer kickoff performance happening on Father’s day, June 16 at 6pm for Car Free Day in Vancouver, BC. After a 3 year hiatus (their band last appeared in 2010 Vancouver Olympics thru the I HEART VAN festival) of separation struggle and the seemingly unsurmountable, they will not only be singing the hooks but dropping the rhymes on the second Sunday of June, lyrics inspired by resilience, ancestry, fierce feline power and of course, their hearts.

tonight: racquel came home from a mumford and sons concert. and i came home from performing for pinoy pride at oasis.
we both had good nights and felt good vibes tonight that we believe are wishes for a good summer already coming true and through.

a friend of mine told me that the exclamation point in my name “k!m” best describes me. thus, i decided to make tee-shirt screen-prints out of this kind sentiment.
the process of creating this shirt took over four damn hours at the purple thistle but thank god i had my homie aly there to keep me sane and laughing. i persevered through the frustrating process and it was rewarding in the end.
today was a rich day. half spent under the sun venting frustrations about the world with my good friend sha and the other half spent indoors chillin with aly and creating.
i feel like i don’t have to wear masks with my friends and that’s a good place to be. it’s important to be vulnerable, and not try to dress shit up, to sit with your uncertainty and admit your weariness, and to be frank about your emotions in the moment.
